This website is dedicated to Duane Melvin Lightfoot III a.k.a. 3D, Third, Trey, il' Duane, and Smallest Duane. Throughout the pages of this website you will learn everything known about Duane, up-to-date information, pictures, and ultimately this site will track Duane’s progress throughout his first year of life. My ultimate goal is to give my son something special that he can remember times that he will be physically unable to remember.
I waited 29 years to even find out about you and then even after I found out about you I had to wait 39 weeks until you were ready to meet you. For almost 10 months I wondered everyday what you would look like, sound like, and how amazing it would be to finally hold you. The first second that you peeked through and I got to see you everything came together. When your mom, grandparents, and family friends got to see you I lost all feelings in my legs and I couldn’t stand up anymore as all emotion left me and the only thing I felt was proud to say, “I am his dad.” There you were and now you are here. Keeping your mother and I awake all night, having to change your diapers after you peed and pooped on me, but the moment you make eye contacts with me and smile it makes it all worthwhile. Now I begin my journey for the rest of your life. I await all the monumental moments and firsts that we will share together. I love you and I can’t wait to finish writing this so I can take you in my arms and squeeze you little body so tight. My purpose in life is to put you before me and try to give you everything you need within my powers. Your little hands when they touch me it reminds me of how blessed I am that you have touched my life, your cries reminds me of everything we went through to get you here, your smile reminds me of how happy I am that I get to see you every day. Here we are and here we go, let’s begin life and “growing memories”…TOGETHER!

4. 50/50 Split The Pot for Duane was a great success and after all was said and done Ebony Wilkins with a guess of October 18th, 6 pm and 8 pounds 5 ounces. She beat out Alex Dudley via tiebreaker whose guess was October 18th, 6 pm and 8 oz. Had Duane drifted over to midnight to be born Martha Phillips would have won with a guess October 19th, 6:28 am and 6 pounds 11 ounces.
5. Godparents have been selected. We decided to pick these a little different then traditional. Many people have expressed that Duane doesn't need this many godparents but as an old African proverb has stated, "It take a village to raise a child." We chose a group and I would like to thank you all for accepting the role and we are thankful to have you all in our lives and in Duane's life. All of you have touched either Kayla or my life in a special way and we are excited to have you have a hand in helping teach Duane. Words cannot express enough. See godparents list below.
